Field Hockey | March 10, 2021
PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University field hockey team will begin Atlantic 10 play with a formidable challenge on Thursday, as reigning champion Saint Joseph's visits Hank DeVincent Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., with the contest airing live on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle dropped its first two games of the 2021 season, both coming away from The Hank.
- In the season opener against Drexel, the two teams went scoreless through the first 30 minutes of action before the Dragons scored twice in the second half to earn the win.
- Two days later, the Explorers held defending America East regular-season champ Monmouth off the scoreboard for the final 42 minutes of a 4-0 loss.
- A pair of freshmen are creating the most havoc on the offensive end, with Paige Doyle and Tatum Johnson leading the team in shot attempts.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
- The Hawks are 0-1 on the young season after dropping a 4-1 decision to Syracuse on March 7.
- Senior Emily Peters, a Second Team All-A-10 selection in 2019, gave SJU an early 1-0 lead late in the first quarter.
- Jordan Olenginski, another senior, was a First Team honoree last season after scoring 11 goals.
