PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University field hockey team continues Atlantic 10 play on Friday afternoon at Hank DeVincent Field with matchup against Lock Haven. The weekend continues two days later for the Explorers, as they square off against Towson on Sunday in Maryland.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle is still in search of its first victory of the year, and is coming off a loss to defending league champion Saint Joseph's on March 11.
- Senior Cassie Kincaid and freshman Ryan Curley split time in net, combining for 14 saves.
- Sophomore Natalie Biliunas had the best chance of the afternoon for La Salle, as her backhand shot from 15 yards out was saved by the SJU goalkeeper.
- On the year, two freshmen -- Tatum Johnson and Paige Doyle -- lead the team in shots with four and three, respectively, as the Explorers still search for their first goal.
SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN
- The game will be the first of the season for the Bald Eagles, who went 11-8 in 2019 and 6-2 in A-10 play.
- LHU earned a narrow 1-0 win over the Explorers in the last matchup between the two teams at Hank DeVincent Field on Oct. 6, 2019.
- La Salle held a 3-0 edge in shots through the first half, but Lock Haven scored within the first five minutes of the second half and held on for the win.
SCOUTING TOWSON
- The Tigers are 0-1 on the early year, having dropped a 3-2 decision to perennial power Syracuse.
- Towson received goals from freshman Kaiya Towsend Sabur and senior Jenna Florenzo.
- Two days before the matchup with the Explorers, Towson will open its conference season against CAA favorite Delaware.
