Shanna Zuanich paced the team with four goals and three assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- La Salle got the early drop on the Wildcats, finishing the first quarter with a 3-2 lead. That advantage grew slightly by the time the halftime horn sounded with the Explorers up 6-4.
- The visitors continued to stretch their lead out of the intermission and by the end of the third quarter, La Salle led 10-6. The Blue & Gold repeated the trick in the fourth period and pulled away in the end, 14-8.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Zuanich was effective from the field, scoring her four goals on only five shots.
- La Salle's number seven was joined by three other Explorers with multi-goal games: seniors Sarah DeFusco and Madison Martinez, plus freshman Hannah Woren all finished with a brace.
- Woren also finished with three assists, while Martinez provided two. Sophomore Sophia Appler also tallied two assists to go along with a goal and four steals.
- In net, sophomore Caitlin Valentine amassed 10 saves on 14 shots. Her classmate, Emma Gurasich, finished with eight saves on 12 shots to go along with an assist and a steal.
UP NEXT
- La Salle continues its road trip with games at the Mylan Aquatic Center in Morgantown, West Virginia on Sunday. There they will play McKendree at 2 p.m. and Gannon at 6 p.m.
