PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University baseball team has two midweek games on the schedule this week against Mount St. Mary's (Md.) and Coppin State. La Salle will visit the Mount on Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch before hosting the Eagles on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

LET'S BE FRANK
  • Freshman right-handed pitcher Frank Elissalt was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday after another brilliant performance on the mound in Saturday's game-two win at George Mason.
  • The Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the third time over the first four weeks of the season, Elissalt allowed just one run on four hits over 8.0 innings pitched to pick up his second consecutive win.
  • Elissalt (2-0, 3.24 ERA) also struck out 10 batters, marking his third 10+ strikeout performance already this season over four starts.
SPLITTING SATURDAYS
  • The Explorers split a non-conference doubleheader at George Mason on Saturday to even their record at 7-7 overall.
  • A late eighth-inning rally wasn't enough for La Salle in game one, falling 8-3 despite a solid start from left-hander Colin Scanlon, who matched his career high with nine strikeouts.
  • Elissalt led the way in game two, keeping the Patriots off the board until the eighth inning, while sophomores Dylan Maria and Elijah Dickerson both belted home runs to provide insurance on offense.
SCOUTING THE MOUNT
  • Mount St. Mary's enters the week at 5-10 overall, with all five wins coming at home.
  • After getting swept in four games at Richmond to start the season, the Mountaineers have gone 5-6 over its home stretch, including a 2-1 series loss to LIU this past weekend.
  • CJ Kozorosky leads the Mount with a .370 batting average, while Brady Drawbaugh is hitting .316 with 13 RBI and a .579 slugging percentage.
  • The Mountaineers have struggled on the mound, however, with a team ERA of 8.35 and a WHIP of 1.81 over 15 games.
SCOUTING COPPIN STATE
  • The Explorers will host the Eagles for the second time this season after catcher Tatem Levins hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to cap a four-run rally in an 11-10 win over Coppin State on March 14 at Hank DeVincent Field.
  • Coppin State is 4-10 on the year and 4-8 on the road, splitting a four-game series at Delaware State over the weekend.
  • Darren Hagan is has been the catalyst for the Eagles on offense, hitting .385 with 17 RBI and 16 runs scored as an everyday starter. Mike Dorcean has produced a .409/.576/.773 slash line as well.
  • On the mound, the Eagles own a team ERA of 6.52 and a 1.95 WHIP.
