Men's & Women's Rowing Teams Have Banner Day; Win Four Races at Jesuit Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's and women's rowing teams put together outstanding performances across the board at the Jesuit Invitational on the Schuylkill River Saturday.

Four boats - the men's varsity eight, the men's second varsity eight, the men's varsity four and the women's novice eight - struck gold in their races, while the fifth boat to compete - the women's varsity eight - earned silver.

"I have been very impressed with the progress of the team over the course of the year," head coach Jeff Garbutt said. "It was great to see their hard work rewarded with success today. We have some work ahead of us, but all in all, it was a great day to be an Explorer."
