PHILADELPHIA - After a nine-day layoff, the La Salle field hockey team returns to action on Wednesday afternoon against nationally-ranked Saint Joseph's. The Atlantic 10 contest is set to begin at 3:00 p.m., and will air live on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- Freshman Nanouk Heersma scored the first goal of her La Salle career in the team's last outing, a 4-1 loss at Villanova on March 29.
- The Netherlands native was the fifth different Explorer this year to find the back of the cage, and the second freshman (Tatum Johnson).
- All five of La Salle's goal scorers are underclassmen, with Johnson leading the group with five points (3 assists).
- Redshirt junior Cassie Kincaid has started all seven matches in goal for the Explorers and has 45 saves.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
- The Hawks have been on a pause from activities since a March 14 game against Delaware.
- SJU is 2-1 on the year and is ranked 19th in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll.
- Jordan Olenginski is the lone Hawk with multiple goals this season with two, both of which came in a game against the Explorers on March 11.
