AMHERST, Mass. - The La Salle University field hockey team will play its second game in four days on Saturday afternoon, when it visits UMass for an Atlantic 10 match. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., and will air live on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle is still looking to find its groove this season, with its most recent game against nationally-ranked Saint Joseph's ending in a 6-1 defeat.
- Senior Rialee Allen notched her first goal of the year in the second quarter, with the assist coming from junior Tori Wright.
- Allen is the sixth different Explorer this year to score, with the prior five coming from underclassmen.
- La Salle will be looking to avenge a narrow 2-1, overtime defeat at the hands of the Minutewomen on March 27.Â
- The Explorers led 2-1 heading into the fourth quarter, but UMass scored once in the fourth and found the game-winning score less than a minute into the extra period.
SCOUTING UMASS
- The Minutewomen are coming off a 5-0 loss to Boston College on Wednesday.
- Overall, UMass is 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
- Jess Beech and Georgie McTear have identical offensive lines this season, and are tied for the team lead in goals (4), assists (2), and points (10).
