PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer season is set to begin Sunday at #10 Penn State (1-0) with a 5 p.m. kickoff airing on the B1G+.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

• Returning for his 19^th season at the helm of the program is head coach Paul Royal.
• La Salle wrapped up the spring 2021 season at 7-2, 4-2 A-10 and just missed out on making the four-team Atlantic 10 Championship.
• The Blue & Gold welcome back 76% of its scoring from this past season and its starting keeper in redshirt-sophomore Jordynn Stallard.
• Stallard posted a 6-2-0 record in her eight starts and tallied a 78.3% save percentage and 0.63 goals against average.
• On the scoring front, sophomore Kelli McGroarty finished tied for a team lead with 11 points on five goals and one assist en route to an Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team nod.
• Classmate Caitlin Donovan also had a solid rookie outing with three goals and an assist to finished third on the team.

 
SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS:

• Penn State is led by 15^th year head coach Erica Dambach.
• The Nittany Lions are ranked 10^th in the nation in the preseason United Soccer Coaches Poll.
• The team claimed its season opener against Atlantic 10 foe UMass, 3-1.
• PSU put 20 shots up against the Minutewomen, which resulted in nine on net.
• Payton Linnehan, Sam Coffey, and Ally Schlegel each scored once, with Linnehan picking up two assists.
