UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The La Salle women's soccer team (0-1) played a perfect second half Sunday evening, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback against #10 Penn State (2-0) as the Blue & Gold fell, 4-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Penn State got on the board during the 25th minute when Sam Coffey sent a pass over the head of Payton Linnehan who was able to send it to the back of the net.
- Less than two minutes later, Linnehan scored again to push the lead to 2-0. This time, it was assisted by Ally Schlegel on a pass around a La Salle defender.
- During the 29th minute, Lennehan corralled the ball after a corner kick and squeaked a shot past redshirt-sophomore Jordynn Stallard.
- At 36:16, Rachel Wasserman found Olive Damico in the middle of the box and Damico chipped a shot on the right side of the net for PSU's fourth goal.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Seven of Explorers made their career debuts, including the first career start for rookie Gabby Picco.
- Stallard (0-1) picked up the loss with four goals against and three saves.
- Freshman Michela Auguadro started the second half and made four saves for a scoreless 45 minutes.

La Salle will head to Storrs, Conn. for a Thursday night matchup against the UConn Huskies.
