PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's soccer team (2-4-1) begins its quest for an Atlantic 10 championship on Sunday afternoon when it hosts Fordham (2-5-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with the match airing live on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle is coming off a 1-0 win at Saint Francis U. on Wednesday evening.
- The Explorers jumped out to an early lead thanks to a goal from freshman Lauren Costello, who pounced on a rebound off an initial attempt by junior Naya Vialva.Â
- Throughout the match, La Salle had opportunities to pad its lead but the one-goal differential proved to be enough as the Red Flash were limited to just three shots over 90 minutes.
- Michela Auguadro was largely untested throughout the contest but did have one save to earn the first shutout win of her career.
- Emily Banashefski recorded her second assist of the season on the initial corner kick that led to the goal, and paces the squad with six points (2 G, 2 A).
ABOUT THE RAMS:
- Fordham will have had a week to prepare for Sunday's contest, with its last outing resulting in a 3-2 loss to Quinnipiac.
- The Rams have scored multiple goals in five of their last six matches. Caitlin Kennedy has five goals to lead the team. Â
- Kennedy and Milan Bornstein scored for Fordham against the Bobcats.
