NEWARK, N.J. - After a scoreless 70 minutes, senior Nigel Buckley delivered the game-winning goal to lead the men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over NJIT Tuesday night.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• La Salle struck first and fast just four minutes out of the gate when Buckley crossed the ball to freshman Daniel Kim. Kim walked right through the defense and found the top left of the net for the 1-0 lead.  
• NJIT let hardly any time pass before tying it up with a header into the lower left of the goal from Rene White off a pass from Alejandro Rabell in the ninth minute.  
• After a scoreless 70 minutes the Explorers found the opportunity to take the lead. Dominick Bachstein started the process forcing the goalie out of place and leaving Junior Nare with an open net. Nare ripped off the shot which ricocheted off the right post and landed at the foot of Buckley who launched it into the open net for the game-winning goal.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

• NJIT finished with a narrow 12-11 edge over the Explorers in shots for the contest. Buckley, Kim and Sam Decencio led La Salle with two shots apiece.  
• The Highlanders also held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-1.  
• Kim's shot marks his second season and career goal while Buckley's goal marks his third this season.
