Box Score PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The La Salle University women's soccer team fell to No. 16 Rutgers, 5-0, at Yurcak Field on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Scarlet Knights scored the lone goal of the first half in the 26th minute when Frankie Tagliaferri scored her fifth goal of the season.
- La Salle fended off every other challenge over the first 45 minutes, thanks in large part to freshman Michaela Auguadro.
- Auguadro tallied 11 saves to keep the margin at just one heading into intermission.
- The second half saw Rutgers pad its lead, scoring in the 47th, 54th, 72nd and 74th minutes.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Auguadro finished the contest with 13 saves, more than doubling her career high of six set against UConn.
- Sophomore Giovanna Castorina, classmate Caitlin Donovan, and freshman Sunni DiElmo each recorded shots for the Explorers.
UP NEXT:
- La Salle returns to McCarthy Stadium for a mid-week matchup against Columbia on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
