PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Omari Cotterell broke a scoreless tie late, as he scored in the 80
th minute of the match to get La Salle past Duquesne.
The Explorers are now 5-8-4 on the season and 3-3-2 in conference play. Duquesne is handed their first in-conference loss as they are now 10-3-4 overall and 4-1-3 in conference play.
How it Happened –
- The entirety of the match was fueled by La Salle shots as they took six total in the first half, four within the first 15 minutes of the game.
- Late in the game, Omari Cotterell took a shot from the top of the box after avoiding a handful of defenders and pushed the put high into the back of the net. This goal broke the scoreless tie and gave the Explorers the coveted goal in the 80th minute.
- The Dukes' Maxi Hopfer was fouled in the 82nd minute of the contest which would set up a penalty kick.
- Filib Sabatti, at full extension to his left, saved the low shot to keep Duquesne off the board late.
