NEW YORK, N.Y. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams come off a seven-day break and head back to New York to compete in the two-day Dr. Sander Invite, hosted by Columbia, on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.
The events on Friday are scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. while Saturday has an 8:30 a.m. start time. The event will be live streamed on USATF.TV.
LAST TIME OUT (MEN'S):
- Liam Rivard claimed gold in the 1,000 meter at the Albany Winter Classic clocking in a time of 2:26.49, almost two seconds faster than the second-place time. The time ranks third in the Atlantic 10 this year and is ranked tenth all-time at La Salle.
- Dennis Manyeah claimed his second consecutive first-place finish in the high jump reaching 2.10m. The jump ranks first in the A-10 so far this season.
- Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky earned his first medal this season walking away with silver in the 5,000m final with a time of 14:25.76. The time is seventh all-time in Explorer history and third in the conference for the indoor season.
- Three Explorers placed in the top 10 in the 3,000m final. MacCallum Rowe led the charge taking sixth place with a time of 8:24.60 with Matt Bridger following closely behind in seventh recording a time of 8:26.18. Ryan James took the ninth-place slot clocking in at 8:29.41.
LAST TIME OUT (WOMEN'S):
- Four Explorers placed in the top 10 in the 1,000m final at the Albany Winter Classic paced by Christine Mancini claiming the gold with a time of 2:50.58. The time is good for fourth in the A-10 this year and ranks second all-time at La Salle.
- Jenna Webb claimed fifth with a time of 2:58. 56 followed by Jerika Lufrano (3:00.20) and Julia Flood (3:01.15) who claimed eighth and 10th, respectively. Webb's time is good for tenth in the A-10 this season.
- Kasi Brown paced La Salle in field events finishing fourth in the triple jump finals recording a total of 11.40m. The time is good for eighth in the conference this year and third all-time in Explorer history.
- Nevaeh Davis and Ahliyah Allen placed in the top five in the 60m finals. Davis claimed the bronze with a time of 7.97 while Allen came in fifth with a time of 7.99.
