PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle rowing team announced an addition to the staff on Friday afternoon, Jack Higgins joining as the newest assistant coach of the program.
 
"I am looking forward to trading my oars for a megaphone, and to help lead this young group of Explorers forward with a young but knowledgeable coaching staff," said Higgins.
 
A native of Abington, Pa., Higgins joins the staff after a four-year collegiate career at Temple, where he rowed for the Owls men's crew team. He joins a group of coaches that have all been student-athletes in the city of Philadelphia, joining Kelsey Franks (Temple) and Ivo Krakic (Drexel) on the staff.
 
"Jack comes to us after spending three years as a Temple varsity rower," said Krakic. "Jack was also a member of one of the best sculling clubs in the country (Undine), where he achieved impressive results. Jack has plethora of high-level rowing experience and will be a huge help in making our season a successful one."
 
The rowing team makes its spring debut at the Murphy Cup on April 2^nd, both the men's and women's team set for competition.
