PHILADELPHIA - With the Atlantic 10 Championships complete, La Salle diving will now shift focus to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships from March 6-7 in Annapolis, Md.
Three Explorers qualified for the Zone A championships in
Phoebe Shaya,
Sam Henninger, and
Steven Stasolla. Shaya and Henninger will compete in both the one-meter and three-meter events, while Stasolla will take the board in the one-meter. The upcoming meet will mark the second time Shaya and Henninger will compete in the Zone A finals, while Stasolla will make his first appearance.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- All three divers for La Salle that will be competing in the Zone A Championships took home medals in the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championships.
- Shaya highlighted that group, taking gold in the one-meter dive with a cumulative score of 265.60 on her way to being named the 2022 A-10 Most Outstanding Diver.
- The senior also advanced to the championship final in the three-meter, claiming fifth at 248.50.
- On the men;s side, Stasolla took silver in the one-meter at 286.15 to take home the third medal of his career. The senior also ranked seventh in the three-meter final.
- Henninger made it three medals for La Salle in the 2022 Championships, ranking third in the three-meter with a score 294.15.
- Henninger also took sixth in the one-meter with 254.15.
