PHILADELPHIA – After doing a little bit of everything for the Explorers in their season finale, La Salle lacrosse sophomore
Maddie Henderson was named NovaCare Student-Athlete of the Week.
In La Salle's final game of the 2022 season, Henderson stuffed the stat sheet against Saint Joseph's with two goals, two assists, four draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball. Saturday's performance marked the 10
th multi-point performance of the season for Henderson, and gave her a goal in every Atlantic 10 conference game of the season for the Explorers.
A do-it-all midfielder, Henderson finished the season ranked in top-two on her team in goals (25), points (31), ground balls (32), draw controls (42) and caused turnovers (24). She tallied hat tricks against Mount St. Mary's and St. Bonaventure and totaled nine games with multiple goals. The Narbeth, Pa. native secured season-high marks in draw controls (7), ground balls (6), and caused turnovers (5) in the same game against Duquesne, all while adding a pair of goals against the Dukes. A clutch performer at the end of games, Henderson tallied the game-winning goals in a pair of one-goal victories over conference foes VCU and St. Bonaventure.
With the 2022 season official closed, Henderson and the Explorers will be back in action in 2023 as they continue their quest for an Atlantic 10 championship.
