INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams had five members qualify for the NCAA East Outdoor Track and Field Championship Preliminaries, the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced Thursday.
Liz Mancini,
El Mancini and
Christine Mancini qualified for the women's side while
Liam Rivard and
Dennis Manyeah qualified for the men's side. All five Explorers had times ranked in top 48 in the East region in order to qualify.
Both Rivard and
Christine Mancini will compete in the 800-meter. Rivard enters the contest with a qualifying time of 1:48.66, ranking 35
th.
Christine Mancini ranks 18
th with a time of 2:04.53. Manyeah is set to compete in the high jump after reaching a qualifying mark of 2.09 meters, tied for 40
th.
Liz and
El Mancini are set to compete in the 5K and 10K, respectively.
El Mancini enters the East preliminaries with a time of 33:20.63 ranking sixth, in the 10K.
Liz Mancini holds a qualifying time of 16:07.44, ranking 35
th, for the 5K.
With five qualifiers, La Salle is tied for most athletes to qualify for the preliminaries in the Atlantic 10. The meet is set to take place in Bloomington, Indiana on May 25-May 28.
