Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls to St. Francis Brooklyn in their First Road Match of the Season.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – The La Salle men's soccer team fell 3-0 to The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers on Monday. The Explorers led the game in shots taken, but in the end the Terriers put three in the back of the net to give them the victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED –
  • The first action for redshirt junior goalie, Zac Moore, started early in the contest, saving a shot by Jaydon Humphries in the fourth minute.
  • In the 36th minute, La Salle had their best scoring opportunity as Vinnie Colon put a shot just wide of the net, and the game remained scoreless.
  • The 40th minute is where the scoring for St. Francis Brooklyn started, as Caleb Danquah took a deep shot that found its way to the back of the net.
  • The second goal for the Terriers was scored by Michele Signorelli in the 57th minute. He got the ball passed the Explorer's goalkeeper and put the Terriers up 2-0.
  • In the 88th minute, Khaled Abdella added to the Terriers lead, making it 3-0.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS –
  • The Explorers outshot St. Francis Brooklyn 12-11.
  • Giammarco Rodio led the team in shots with three.
  • The Terriers goalkeeper, David Santiago, had five saves in the shutout.
  • Each team had five corner kicks throughout the contest.

  • La Salle will return home for a match against Manhattan (1-1) on Friday, September 2nd at 7 p.m. Arrive to McCarthy Stadium early, as there will be a Stadium Cup* giveaway.
