HAMILTON, N.Y. - The La Salle University women's soccer team (3-1-0) returns to the road on Thursday evening with a non-league match against Colgate (0-2-1) in upstate New York.
The Explorers follow that contest up with another match against a New York state foe in UAlbany (0-4) at McCarthy Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle had its three-match win streak snapped on Sunday in a 2-0 setback to James Madison.
- The Explorers outshot the Dukes, 15-5, and had more shots on goal and corner kicks, but had trouble finishing in the final third.
- Junior Kelli McGroarty and sophomore Haley Gschrey are tied for the team in goals (2), assists (2), and points (6) through four matches.
- Sophomore Courtney Butlion is also tied with the duo with a pair of goals.
- Michela Auguadro has played every minute of all four matches in goal, and holds a 0.75 goals-against average.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS
- Colgate has faced some stiff competition over the first three matches of the year, dropping a close 1-0 decision to 2021 NCAA Tournament participant Providence and fell 4-2 to reigning Ivy League champ Princeton.
- The two teams squared off a season ago at McCarthy Stadium, with La Salle taking a 2-1 victory thanks to a pair of first-half goals.
- Ally Giovino has a pair of goals this season to pace the squad.
ABOUT THE GREAT DANES
- UAlbany will take on Rider in a midweek game on Wednesday, as it looks to snap a four-match losing streak.
- The team has yet to find its footing offensively, as it has been shutout in each of the first four games of the season.
- Sahara Zingano has registered a team-high 17 shots through four contests, nearly doubling the next closest teammate (Olivia Piraino, 9).
