SOUTH KENT, Conn. - Freshman Kevin Lydon was the low scorer for the La Salle men's golf team at the 54-hole Hartford Hawks Invitational this week, shooting 70-75-70 to finish in a tie for 12th individually. As a team, the Explorers closed in 13th place at 883.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lydon and fellow frosh Armand Loscalzo each fired two-under par 70 to open the tournament on Monday, and were three shots off the pace heading into round two.
• The Explorers were in 10th position as a team, but fell to 14th after a second round that saw them shoot 298.
• Karsen Rush and Anthony Garcia led the team in round two, each shooting one-over par 73.
• On Tuesday, La Salle saw Lydon return to form and shoot a two-under par 70 to finish the tournament at one-under par 215.
• As a team, the Explorers improved by two shots to 296 and closed four shots in front of Rider and just seven strokes behind Atlantic 10 competitor Fordham.
