Men's Rowing Announces Eight New Additions to the 22-23 Roster

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - La Salle head men's rowing coach Ivo Krakic announced eight new additions for the fall 2022 campaign.

"Our recruiting has been very strong and we are bringing in the fastest freshman class to date," said Krakic. "The incoming class consists of seven rowers and one coxswain originating from the United States, Serbia, Croatia and Germany. I believe all of our new recruits will make excellent additions to the team and also make great contributions to our continued success off the water and in the classroom." 

Emiliano CaltencoEmiliano Caltenco joins La Salle as a coxswain from Pelham, New York. Caltenco is a 2022 state champion in the Varsity 8+. He will be studying special education. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Caltenco stated, "I chose La Salle because of how welcoming the team was at the practice I was able to watch on the Schuylkill. I was able ot speak to the education majors and liked what they had to say about the program. The campus seemed to be the perfect size for me and I've grown to love Philly because of the many regattas that I've been to with my club team. I am excited to now be a part of the Explorer family!" 


Thomas CawleyThomas Cawley joins La Salle as a freshman rower from Mays Landing, New Jersey. As a two-sport varsity athlete, he was a three-year varsity starter on his high school football team, as well as a Distinguished Varsity Scholar. Cawley will also be studying education . 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Cawley stated, "I loved the underdog persona La Salle took on last year. They went through so much adversity but never gave up and made heads turn." 


Robin HamannRobin Hamann comes all the way from Bad Segeberg, Germany. Hamann is a very experienced rower who represented Germany on their U19 National Team on multiple occasions. He is undeclared for his studies, but looks to focus on science. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Hamann stated, "I chose La Salle University because I felt very welcomed from the coach and we share many views. I want to help the team get stronger and to beat other universities." 






Ronald GreippRonald Greipp comes to La Salle from Holy Ghost Prep where he ran cross country. Greipp fell in love with rowing his senior year and decided to pursue the sport. In his limited time rowing, he has progressed quickly and has a lot of potential. Originally from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, Greipp will be joining the freshmen class studying nursing. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Greipp stated, "I chose La Salle because I wanted to explore the Philly atmosphere. I wanted to continue my rowing career somewhere familiar and La Salle had just that." 


Andreja JevticAndreja Jevtic joins us all the way from Belrade, Serbia. Jevtic is the 2021 Serbian 2K Erg National Champion. On the water, he represented Serbia on the U19 National Team and is has won multiple national championships. He looks to study computer science during his time at La Salle. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Jevtic stated, "I chose La Salle for the ability to row at the highest level, its resources and the opportunity to study on another continent." 






Tristano PitettiTristano Pitetti joins La Salle from Center, Ohio as a freshman rower. Not only was he an accomplished rower in high school, earning a varsity letter in hi second year of rowing and competing in Youth Nationals his senior year, but also served as a mentor to younger rowers on his team. He is looking to pursue a degree in accounting. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Pitetti stated, "I chose La Salle University to row on the iconic Schuylkill River and to study in one of the nation's most historical cities. La Salle appealed to me because of its excellent business program and the support the school provides its athletes." 



Kurt RudolphKurt Rudolph comes from Hawthorne, New Jersey as a rower. He is very experienced in sculling and placed ninth at Youth Nationals in the quad. Rudolph will be studying nursing. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Rudolph stated, "I chose La Salle because of the new coaching and the results that are being produced as a product of that. The team environment seems awesome and I'm excited to join it. The academics are great and I'm excited to spend the next four years there." 





Patrik FarkasPatrik Farkas is an accomplished rower from Zagreb, Croatia. He has represented Croatia at the U19 World Championships as well as been titled Croatian National Champion numerous times. He joins La Salle as a graduate student previously completing his bachelor's degree at Penn, where he stroked their Varsity 8+ his freshman year. He is working towards an MBA from La Salle in business analytics. 

When asked why he chose La Salle, Farkas stated, "I chose to study at La Salle to get wider range of education needed to succeed in life. I believe that it will be a similar experience to undergrad, but also a new and exciting chapter in my life."
