PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The La Salle University women's soccer team (5-1) takes the short trip to New Jersey to take on nationally-ranked Rutgers on Thursday evening. Kickoff for the Explorers against the No. 6 team in the country is set for 7:00 p.m.Â
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle swept its two games last week, earning a hard-fought 1-0 road win over Colgate before returning home and defeating UAlbany, 2-1.
- Junior Kelli McGroarty scored the game-winning goal against the Great Danes and assisted on freshman Ricshya Walker's first collegiate goal against the Raiders.
- McGroarty leads the Explorers in goals (3), assists (3), and points (9), and currently leads the Atlantic 10 in assists (tied), shots (26), and shots on goal (12).
- In goal, Michela Auguadro has played every minute of every match (540 minutes) and maintains a 0.67 goals-against average to rank fifth in the A-10.
ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
- Rutgers has opened the season 6-0 for the second straight season, and moved up to a tie for sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll this week.
- The Scarlet Knights have outscored their opponents 21-2, including four shutouts.
- Eleven different players have found the back of the net this season for RU, with Sam Kroeger and Allison Lowrey leading the way with four apiece.
- Meagan McClelland has started all six matches in goal, and has a total of 11 saves and a 0.35 GAA.
