PHILADELPHIA — The La Salle men's rowing team opened its fall season by seeing six of its seven boats place in the top 10 at the Navy Day Regatta on Sunday on the Schuylkill River.
Leading the way were the Explorers' four Varsity 4+ boats, which grabbed the top four spots in the Men's Collegiate 4+.
The Explorers' Varsity 4+ D boat crossed the finish line first in a time of 13:26.26. Then, the Varsity 4+ A boat was the runner-up in 13:39.07.
After them, the Varsity 4+ C boat took third in 14:12.53. The Varsity 4+ B boat rounded out the foursome in fourth in 14:13.49.
Along with the Varsity 4+ boats, the Explorers saw its Varsity 8+ A boat place third in the Men's Collegiate 8+. The V8 finished in a time of 12:08.53, seven seconds behind winner Penn (12:00.48) and runner-up Navy (12:07.05). The Explorers' Varsity 8+ B boat also competed in the race, coming in 15
th in 12:52.38.

rd Varsity 8+ boat had the final top-10 finish for the program, coming in eighth place in the Men's Collegiate JV 8+ race in a time of 13:36.42.
The Explorers will head to the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Oct. 20 in Boston.
