WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After an emotional win on Friday, the Explorers will look to re-shift focus towards William & Mary on Sunday at 11 a.m.
La Salle enters the contest at 11-4 overall (5-1 in conference) and the Tribe come in at 7-7 (4-2 in conference). Follow along using the Live Stats link.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle beat VCU in double overtime Friday thanks to the heroics of Clara Larripa. The freshman scored both goals in the victory, including the game-winner.
- Larripa now leads the Atlantic 10 in goals scored (12), as a freshman.
- Tatum Johnson, the Explorers leading assist getter, helped on the final goal of the game against the Rams.
- The La Salle defense held VCU to only six shots, three of which were on goal.
- This 11th win marks the first time a La Salle field hockey team has reached these many wins in a season since 1982.
- The Explorers solidified their ticket to the A-10 Playoff tournament with this win over VCU.
- Friday was the sixth straight win for La Salle.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE:
- William & Mary enter tomorrow 7-7, riding a two-game winning streak over Monmouth and VCU.
- The Tribe also went to overtime against the Rams, coming out on top 1-0.
- Lauren Curran and Audrey Domovich are W&M's leading goal-scorers with six each.
- The top assist-getters on the squad have four each, titles held by Maddie McGaughey and Lonica McKinney.
- This will be only the second matchup between the two teams, the Tribe taking the last game 8-0 back in 2017.
