DAVIDSON, N.C. — The La Salle women's soccer team ended the regular season on a nine-game unbeaten streak after posting a 2-0 win over Davidson on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Soccer Stadium.
With the win, the Explorers finished 8-1-1 in A-10 play and 10-5-3 on the season. The Explorers went 8-0-1 in their final nine games of the season.
More importantly, they finished second in the A-10 standings with 25 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers jumped out to a fast start, as sophomore Ricshya Walker headed in a goal in the fifth minute off a double assist from Madison McCready and Emily Banashefski during a corner kick.
- Then, fellow sophomore Justyce Hollenbach came off the bench and curled in a goal off a pass from Banashefski to give La Salle a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute that they would eventually take into halftime.
- In the second half, Davidson controlled most of the play, outshooting La Salle, 4-1, and holding a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- However, the Explorers' defense stepped up, forcing all four of the Wildcats' shots wide of the goal and kept them off the scoreboard to earn the victory.
GAME NOTES
- Hollenbach's goal moved her into a tie for first on the team in goals with six and fourth overall in the A-10 in that category.
- Walker's goal marked her fifth goal on the season. It also was her first game-winning goal of the season.
- Goalkeeper Michela Auguadro secured her sixth shutout of the season in goal.

- The Explorers will host an Atlantic 10 Tournament quarterfinal game on Friday. The seedings for the tournament will be released on Sunday night.
