Men's Swimming and Diving | February 14, 2023
Geneva, OH – Explorers swim and dive will travel to Ohio to compete in the 2022-23 A-10 Conference Championships.
The competitions will start tomorrow and wrap-up on Saturday, February 18
th.
Scouting the Explorers –
- The men's team will enter the championships with a 4-5 overall record on the season.
- The women enter with a 4-5-1 overall record.
- Over the course of the season the women's team faced two in-conference teams and came out with a 1-1 record against them, while the men were 0-1 in their only in-conference meet.
- Standout freshman distance swimmer, George Williamson, is expected to put up some big times during the competitions. Williamson was dominant throughout the distance races during the regular season.
- Gabriela Herbreder is another name to watch going into the A-10 Championships. Herbreder competed hard in the butterfly and backstroke events this season.
- Felix Jedbratt is another swimmer on the men's side that can make a big splash in thee results this week. Jedbratt is coming off of a win against Monmout where he swam to two first-place finishes in the 50-free and the 100-fly.
- Zack Wolbert is returning to the A-10 competitions one year removed from his strong performance in 2022. Wolbert earned three medals over the Championships last year, and has continued that success over this season.
- Diver, Phoebe Shaya, has had a record-breaking season this year. Her last time out she broke the La Salle program one-meter board record with a score of 321.90. Shaya was named 2022 A-10 Diver of the Year.
