KINGSTON, R.I. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams ended the final day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships with three more individual title winners totaling five individual titles for the weekend.
El Mancini led the way claiming her second gold medal of the championships in the 3K with a time of 9:34.34. Her performance earned her the league's female Most Outstanding Track Performer award.
Christine Mancini earned her second consecutive individual indoor title in the 1K. The junior clocked in at 2:48.98, a little over a second faster than the second-place finisher.
Liz Mancini followed close behind her sisters claiming the silver in the 3K. The graduate student finished just 0.04 seconds behind her twin sister clocking in at 9:34.98 for the second-place finish.
The Explorers' women's 4x800-meter relay also claimed the silver. The squad clocked in at 9:11.09 to earn the second-place slot. The Explorers' men's 4x800m captured the bronze with a time of 7:41.45.
The men's team was led by
Liam Rivard who earned his second-career A-10 individual title. The senior captured the gold in the 800m with a time of 1:54.44.
MacCallum Rowe finished just shy of a podium spot in the 3K. He crossed the line with a final time of 3:19.93 for fourth.
David Butts also finished the race in the top 10 placing ninth with a time of 8:21.11.
Jerika Lufrano also claimed a top 10 spot. Lufrano placed sixth in the mile with a time of 5:03.81.
