PHILADELPHIA —
Nick O'Neill of the La Salle men's rowing team has been chosen to attend the 2023 U23 National Team Men's Sweep Selection Camp at Dartmouth College.
O'Neill was one of 27 rowers across the country to be invited to attend the U23 National Team Men's Sweep Selection Camp, which brings the fastest individual athletes in the nation together allowing to assemble the best combination of talent. The objective of the camp is to select the best athletes, who will participate in different boat classes in the 2023 U23 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Ivo Krakic said. "Nick's dedication and commitment pushed him and the team to new heights. Nick has been a model student-athlete, a great teammate and a friend. At only 19 years of age, he holds the all-time 2k and 6k records for our team. The sky is the limit for Nick and I am very excited to see how far he goes!"
O'Neill was selected to the camp after being a key cog for the V8 in his second year for the Explorers.
Sitting in the 6 seat this season, the sophomore rower helped the V8 earn its highest national ranking in program history after it finished 18
th in the country following a sixth-place finish in the C final at the IRA National Championship in a time of 5:55.84. O'Neill also assisted the V8 to a silver medal at the Dad Vail Regatta in 5:43.29 for boat's highest finish at Dad Vails since 1958.
The Vero Beach, Fla. native also guided the V8 to silvers at the Murphy Cup (5:45.25), Kerr Cup (6:41.0), and Bergen Cup (5:26.0). In addition, O'Neill aided the V8 to bronze medals at the Knecht Cup (5:59.43) and Windermere Cascade Cup (6:04.36) in Seattle, Wash.
