Ezra's Late PK Goal Secures 1-1 Draw in A-10 Opener for Men's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA – Thanks to a late penalty kick goal scored by Omri Ezra, La Salle was able to split the points with crosstown rival St. Joe's on Saturday night by a final score of 1-1 to open up conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Explorers controlled the first half of the game and had some big opportunities and some nice build up play, but to no avail. 
  • In the 47th minute, St. Joe's broke the scoreless tie after a goal from Blake Driehus put them up 1-0.
  • La Salle played some great defense in the second half, not allowing St. Joe's to go up even bigger after the Hawks attempted six shots in the second half.
  • In the 83rd minute, Omri Ezra calmly dispatched the penalty given by Mikkel Anderson to level the score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Filip Sabatti collected four saves this game, two in each half and one late in the game where the Hawks could have went up 2-1.
  •  The penalty scored by Omri Ezra was his first goal of the season.
  • La Salle drew three yellow cards to St. Joe's one.
