Women’s Soccer Looks to Extend Winning Streak Against Saint Joseph’s

PHILADELPHIA — The La Salle women's soccer goes for its third straight victory in Atlantic 10 Conference play on Sunday afternoon when it travels across the city to face Saint Joseph's. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN+. In addition, Explorers fans can follow the team on X @LaSalle_WSOC and Instagram @lasalle_wsoc.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • The Explorers (5-5-2, 3-1 A-10) are coming off a pair of 3-0 wins over George Washington and Richmond plus a 1-0 victory over VCU on Thursday night. In the VCU game, Justyce Hollenbach scored in the 69th minute off a pass from Giovanna Castorina and the Explorers' defense kept the Rams in check to earn their third shutout in a row.
  • The Explorers look to win their seventh meeting against the Hawks in their last 11 meetings. The Explorers posted a 1-0 win in last year's meeting at McCarthy Stadium.
  • Hollenbach paces the Explorers in points (eight) and goals (four). The sophomore forward is tied for eighth in the A-10 in goals.
  • Estrada is tied for fifth in the A-10 in assists with four. The sophomore is only two assists behind four others for the conference lead.
  • Richsya Walker leads the team with 29 shots and 14 shots on goal. The sophomore forward ranks fifth in the A-10 in shots and sixth in the conference in shots on goal.
  • Junior Michela Auguadro leads the team in saves with 41 in 10 games of action. The junior goalkeeper has posted three straight shutout victories in net and ranks seventh in the A-10 in saves per game with 4.10.
  • La Salle is led by Paul Royal, who is in his 21st season at the helm. Royal has a 204-158-39 record for the Explorers.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
  • The Hawks are 2-0-2 in A-10 contests after beating Richmond (3-2) and George Washington (3-1) while tying Rhode Island (0-0) and Loyola Chicago (0-0). Saint Joseph's also started a game against George Mason, but the game was abandoned due to the intense rain by Tropical Storm Ophelia
  • The Hawks are led by Natalee Vicari, who has five points on one goal and three assists. Maddie Anderson and Chloe Khelil head the team in goals with two apiece.
  • VCU is coached by Jess Mannella, who is in her 23rd season as a head coach with the Hawks and in her 24th season overall. Mannella has a 178-197-55 record at SJU and a 188-206-56 career record overall.
