Field Hockey Travels to Cornell for Early-Week Bout

ITHICA, N.Y. – La Salle field hockey will play their first of three games this week on the road against the Cornell Big Red. The Explorers are coming off of an 0-2 weekend and will be looking to snap that streak.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

La Salle most recently fell at the hand of the Drexel Dragons on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.
The Explorers found themselves in a 2-0 hole for a majority of the game, but Quinn Medico connected for her first goal of the season to get La Salle on the board.
On Friday, La Salle faced off against #15 Massachusetts and took them to the edge of defeat.
Matilda Diedrichsen scored in the late stages of the game to tie it at one goal apiece, before the Minutewomen narrowly escaped with the win with 20 seconds remaining in the contest.
Sofia Pla and Zhao Rodrigo enter tomorrow as the mainstays on offense for La Salle, each with three goals this season, which lead the squad.
Ten different Explorers have found the back of the cage this season.
Abby Boggs has seen every minute in goal for La Salle this season as she enters tomorrow with a .744 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED:

Cornell enters tomorrow's contest with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-3 record in Ivy League play.
The Big Red currently are riding a three-game skid with their most recent loss coming at the hand of the Bucknell Bison in a 3-2 defeat.
Prior to this three-game losing streak, Cornell was on a three-game winning streak in which they outscored their opponents 11-2 in that stretch.
Julia Ramsey leads the way for Cornell in scoring as she has tallied four goals total this season, while also amounting to eight points, also a team high.
Martha Broderick has started all 11 games for Cornell this season and enters tomorrow with a .707 save percentage.
