Women’s Soccer Looks to Extend Unbeaten Streak at George Mason

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team looks to extend its undefeated streak to four games as the Explorers face off against the George Mason Patriots in Fairfax. La Salle has a 6-1-2 record against the Patriots since 2013. The game will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • Since falling at Rhode Island in the conference opener, La Salle has earned results in its last three matchups. The Explorers most recently tied Loyola Chicago, 0-0, on Sunday.
  • Haley Gschrey leads the Explorers with seven goals, one short of her team-leading total from last season.
  • Michela Auguadro recorded the 20th shutout of her career on Sunday, it was the first time this season she has put together back-to-back shutouts. The goalkeeper is only the second player in program history who has reached the 20 clean sheet mark.
  • Balance has become La Salle's calling card this season. The Explorers rank fifth in total offense (1.8 GPG) and sixth in goals allowed (1.00). Only Saint Louis and Duquesne rank above the Explorers in both categories.
  • Gschrey is tied for fifth in the Atlantic-10 in goals (7). Ricshya Walker also checks in the top ten, with her five goals tied for ninth.
  • Gschrey and Justyce Hollenbach are tied for the team lead in assists (4) and are tied for sixth in the conference in the category.
  • The Explorers are led by head coach Paul Royal, who enters his 22nd season at the helm. Royal is one of the top coaches in the Atlantic 10, earning five trips to the NCAA Tournament during his tenure and has sent 16 players to the professional ranks. He was voted A-10 Coach of the Year for the fifth time last season.
  • Royal has amassed 217 wins in his head coaching career. He ranks 18th among active D1 coaches in wins at a single institution.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
  • George Mason has stumbled to a 2-7-4 record this season. Aside from a pair of back-to-back home victories against Northern Colorado and Maryland, the Patriots have been winless.
  • Eight players have scored for the Patriots. Michi Hooks is the only player who has scored more than one goal (2).
  • Aaron Brunner comes to George Mason after two outstanding seasons as an assistant coach at Florida State including the 2023 national title. This is his first season with the program.
