La Salle to Host VCU Friday, Rider Sunday on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – La Salle field hockey will welcome the VCU Rams to the Proving Grounds tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 PM for an A10 Conference match. La Salle enters at 8-8 on the year, 1-4 in conference, and VCU sits at 9-5 overall and 3-2 in conference this season. The Explorers will then play host to the 10-6 Rider Broncs on Senior Day. Sunday's game will be played at Ellen Ryan Field on the campus of Saint Joseph's University.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Explorers are coming off of a 1-1 weekend with a win over Mercyhurst and a loss to Davidson.
  • The win over Mercyhurst was the biggest of the season as La Salle won 6-0, and got off 33 shots in the victory.
  • Quinn Medico led the way in goals for the Blue & Gold with two in the win over the Lakers.
  • Sofia Pla had a season-high eight shots against Mercyhurst which was the most on the team.
  • Abby Boggs had a career-week in goal for the Explorers. Across three games she had 24 total saves and allowed only three goals.
 
SCOUTING THE RAMS:
  • VCU comes into the game with a 9-5 overall record and went 1-1 last weekend.
  • The Rams beat Saint Louis 7-0 last Friday for their ninth win on the year. On Sunday, however, VCU dropped a road contest 4-0 to #11 Duke.
  • Ella Fehr leads the Rams with seven goals, but three other members of the team have scored six goals.
  • Emma Clements has spent the most time in goal for VCU and enters tomorrow with a .729 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE BRONCS:
  • Rider enters the contest at 10-6 overall this season and has a 6-1 conference record in the NEC.
  • They are currently riding a five-game winning streak and most recently topped LIU to clinch a berth in the NEC postseason tournament.
  • Olivia Machiavelli is the lead goal-getter for Rider this season as she has 13 goals this season. Valeria Perales is not far behind as she has nine goals on the year.
  • Jade Regnart has started all 16 games this year for Rider and enters with a .743 save percentage.
