PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team finished 1-1 Saturday night, scoring a late equalizer against VCU to earn a point on Senior Day. La Salle's record improves to 5-7-4 with the result.

HOW IT HAPPENED

•  Colin Beasley had a shot stopped by the VCU keeper in the sixth minute.
• Tino Kneis, back in goal for La Salle, made his first save five minutes later.
• Andrew Rosenbaum had an attempt that was smothered by the opposing goalie in the 15^th minute.
• In the 21^st minute, Andoni Garrogerricaechebarria had a shot aimed right under the crossbar that was tipped out by the VCU goalie.
• Kneis made his second save of the night in the 35^th minute.
• VCU scored three minutes later. Kneis made a diving shot on the initial attempt, but the follow-up ball was tapped in.
• La Salle came out firing in the second half, with a shot on goal by Kyrese Lynch-Bailey in the 47th minute that was saved.
• Kneis made a quick-reaction stop in the 76^th minute to keep the Explorers in it late.
• The Explorers found its breakthrough in the 79^th minute. After an initial blocked shot, Beasley shot from just outside the box a ball that curled into the far top right corner of the goal to make it a 1-1 game.
• La Salle would keep on pressing, as a counterattack chance led Garrogerricaechebarria to shoot near-post, but it was pushed out by the keeper in the 87^th minute.
• Both teams were unable to get another big chance, and the score ended 1-1.

GAME NOTES:

•  Shots were 12-9 in favor of La Salle, with six of the 11 shots on goal credited to the Explorers.
• Beasley scored his team-leading eighth goal tonight, and the Explorers are now 4-1-1 in games when Beasley scores.
• La Salle has scored five goals in the 75^th minute or later this season.
