HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Explorer offense was able to get off to a quick start offensively, while holding strong on defense.
  • Mackenzie Daleba added four quick points in the early goings of the contest to build an early cushion.
  • The Ramblers cut the La Salle lead to two points towards the end of the first, but the lead would get back seven for the Explorers at the end of the first.
  • A second-chance three-point shot for Joan Quinn is how the second quarter began for La Salle, growing the lead to ten points.
  • Offense was at a premium in the second quarter with the two teams combining for 19 points, Loyola Chicago holding the slight edge 10-9. Daleba lead both teams at the break with eight points.
  • Loyola amounted their biggest push at the La Salle lead in the third quarter thanks to Sitori Tanin. The graduate student eventually eclipsed 1,000 career points in the third, but also led the drive by the Ramblers that would tie the Explorers in the third.
  • La Salle from that point on, however, would not surrender the lead, thanks to Ayisee Magassa and Aryss Macktoon.
