SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- The Explorers are coming off of their eight-straight loss, this time at the hands of the Saint Louis Billikens 57-78.
- Despite the loss, four different Explorers finished in double-digits. Tiara Bolden led the way with 13 points followed by, Nicole Melious (12), Jolene Armendariz (11), and Molly Masciantonio (10).
- Bolden has been a reliable source of offense for La Salle over the last handful of games. She currently is riding a three-game streak of scoring at least 11 points, which started against Richmond.
- Masciantonio has been similar to Bolden in the last three games, scoring in the double-digits in all three. Her best performance came against VCU scoring 12 points against the Rams.
- Consistency during the course of a game has been difficult for the Explorers in this eight-game stretch. The last time out against Saint Louis, the first to second quarter did not go in the favor of La Salle. The Explorers ended the first shooting 52%, and finished the second shooting only 6%.
- The Explorers are ranked in certain categories within the conference worth noting: 3rd in 3-PT field goals made (210), 3rd in opponent 3-PT FG percentage (.289), and 3rd in steals (247).
- La Salle has now lost eight-straight games after Wednesday's loss to Saint Louis. The Explorers sit at 4-13 in conference play. The Rams are 8-9 in conference alongside Loyola Chicago. The last eight-game losing streak La Salle was on was snapped against Fordham in January.
- As a team, the Explorers take as many three-point shots as any team in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 27.7 per game. Nationally, La Salle is ranked 10th in the nation in that category. Marshall ranks first taking 31.2 three-point attempts per game this season.
SCOUTING THE RAMS:
- Fordham enters tomorrow coming off of a huge win over the Saint Joseph's Hawks this past Wednesday 62-57.
- That win extends the winning streak for Fordham to six games, their longest of the season, and the current longest in the conference.
- Fordham is home to the conference's leading scorer in Taylor Donaldson, averaging 17.7 points per game. Donaldson makes a lot of her living from beyond the arch, averaging 2.8 three-point conversions per game.
- The last meeting between the two schools, La Salle did an admirable job containing Donaldson. The senior was held to 11 points, and went 2-9 from the three-point line.
