Men's Rowing | March 27, 2024
PHILADELPHIA - The nationally-ranked La Salle University men's rowing team returns to action on the Schuylkill River on Thursday, when it hosts No. 18 Georgetown. Racing begins at 1:00 p.m. with the Varsity 8+.
The Explorers, who enter the race at No. 16 in the country according to the IRCA/IRA Top 25 Poll, opened the spring season with an impressive showing against No. 17 Drexel. The top varsity 8 boat, stroked by freshman
Predrag Cvetkovic, defeated the Dragons by nearly two seconds and closed in a blistering time of 5:30.5.
The second varsity 8 also defeated Drexel's second-best crew by nearly two seconds. Both of Drexel's boats earned Dad Vail gold medals in 2023 and the men's rowing team captured the overall team title.
La Salle saw Georgetown in the fall at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase, as the Hoyas finished in ninth place at the event - just ahead of the Explorers, who closed in 10th position.Â
