SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Michael Warari era will start tomorrow in the season opener as the first-year head coach looks to secure his first win as coach of the Explorers.
  • Warari inherits a team from last year with some familiar faces, after they finished the season 13-6 and a trip to the Atlantic 10 Conference semifinals.
  • The Explorers welcome back seniors Sophia Wasyliw and Zhao Rodrigo to the 2024 squad. They scored five and three goals, respectively, last season for La Salle. Of the returning players, Wasyliw led the team with ten points and those five goals.
  • Quinn Medico and Sofia Pla each contributed one goal last season and will look to add more in 2024.
  • Abby Boggs is the lone goalie from last year to return, as she is joined by two new faces. Leah DiRenzo is a transfer from Saint Joseph's and Zarah Synnestvedt is a freshman.
  • La Salle welcomes a total of nine new members to the 2024 team. Seven of those nine members are freshmen, with DiRenzo and Natalie Forman each transferring from Saint Joseph's.
  • The freshman class consists of seven student-athletes: Roos Pasveer, Rumbi Zimuto, Kat Cumming, Marisol Torreyson, Sofia Enriquez, Katie Schaller, and Zarah Synnestvedt.
  • The Explorers enter the season as the fifth ranked team in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll.
  • The home matches for the 2024 season will be held at Howarth Field on the campus of Temple University.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS:
  • Wagner enders 2024 off of a successful 2023 season. The seahawks ended the regular season 6-12, but were seeded fourth in the NEC Tournament.
  • In the semifinals of the tournament the Seahawks ousted the top-seeded Fairfield Stags in route to a championship game appearance where they fell to Sacred Heart in overtime 1-0.
  • Senior Emma Lofsted is a name to watch for La Salle as she is coming off a season where she received first home all-conference. She tallied four goals and four points last year.
  • Charlotte Muller eared all-conference second team for Wagner as she enters her sophomore season.
  • Aubrey Mytych enters her first season has head coach of the Seahawks.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS:
  • Queens University of Charlotte field hockey comes into 2024 looking to turn the tides from last season. The Royals finished 0-17 in 2023 only managing to tally three goals the entire year.
  • On average, opposing teams would record 6.59 goals per game against the Royals as they allowed 499 total shots last year.
  • One of the three goal scorers from last season's team returns for the 2024 campaign in Karlee Alt. Alt scored her loan goal of the year in a 5-1 loss to Longwood.
