Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

La Salle Drops to Soccer Six Rival Drexel, 3-2

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team put up a strong offensive showing but fell in a tight game in University City to Drexel, 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The match was light on action in the opening minutes. Kyrese Lynch-Bailey fired the first shot of the game in the 13th minute.
  • After some back-and-forth play, Lynch-Bailey found Yuval Nimrodi in the 25th minute for the first goal of La Salle's season.
  • Ten minutes later, Explorers' keeper Tino Kneis made the first save of the game, stopping a shot bound for the center of the goal. La Salle took a 1-0 lead into the break.
  • After a dart from Giammarco Rodio was saved by Drexel, the Dragons tied the match in the 60th minute.
  • Only three minutes later, Drexel scored again to go up 2-1.
  • The Explorers countered hard with shots from Rodio, however Drexel saved both attempts. Drexel added a third goal in the 78th minute.
  • Only four minutes, Sean Yurgel scored the Explorers' second of the night off of an assist from Dylan Kwasnik.
  • Despite a late push, Drexel held on to secure the win.
 
GAME NOTES
  • La Salle and Drexel were even with 14 shots each.
  • Kneis saved five shots.

  • The Explorers return to McCarthy Field on Friday night to face Mount St. Mary's. The game will kick at 6p on ESPN+. Admission is free to all fans.
