PHILADELPHIA – La Salle field hockey head coach
Michael Warari has finalized the roster for the upcoming 2024 season. The roster includes nine new members composed of seven freshmen and two transfers.
"I am extremely excited to welcome all of our new additions to the team this year," Warari said. "Each student-athlete adds significant value to the program and the direction we are trying to head in and I can't wait to see how it unfolds this season."
Leah DiRenzo joins La Salle from across the city where she played her previous two seasons at Saint Joseph's University. The junior goalkeeper comes to 20
th & Olney with two Atlantic 10 Championships under her belt as she was a member of the Hawks team that won the conference championship in 2022 and 2023. Also coming from Hawk Hill to La Salle is sophomore defender
Natalie Forman. Forman alongside DiRenzo was a member of the 2023 A-10 Champion Hawks. While in high school, the Pasadena, MD. native was a four-year starter and was a team captain her junior and senior seasons.
Kat Cumming comes to the Explorer family as a freshman from Rochester, England. At the conclusion of her senior season at Holcombe, the midfielder received Player of the Season accolades to go along with three undefeated seasons from freshman through junior year. Next to join La Salle is
Sofia Enriquez, a freshman forward hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Enriquez attended Colegio Newlands in high school and was named the captain of her team.
Joining the Explorers is also
Roos Pasveer. Pasveer comes to La Salle as a freshman from Leeuwarden, Netherlands and is a forward.
Katie Schaller joins the Blue & Gold from Garnet Valley, Pa. She played for the Archmere Academy in high school and received many accolades during her time there. She was awarded the Coaches Award and the Female Student Athlete Award.
Zarah Synnestvedt is a goalkeeper from Bryn Athyn, Pa. She played high school field hockey at the Academy of the New Church Girls School where she received the MVP and Elaine S. Asplundh Awards.
Marisol Torreyson joins La Salle from Crofton, Md. The midfielder and forward played at Archbishop Spalding and was a IAAM Championships runner-up, while going 16-1 in her senior season as a nationally ranked team.
Lastly,
Rumbi Zimuto joins the Explorer family from Newlands, Zimbabwe. While competing for the Zimbabwe national team, she won a silver medal at the Africa Cup for the U21 2023 team. She was also a member of the Zimbabwe Senior Ladies team that competed in the Africa Road to the Olympics Qualifiers where she scored her first international goal.
