PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's soccer team earned its first point of the season, tying the Saint Joseph's Hawks, 1-1 on Sunday afternoon. Both goals were scored in the first 20 minutes, with
Haley Gschrey finding the back of the net for the Explorers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks converted on the first shot attempt of the game, going up 1-0 in the second minute.
- La Salle quickly went on the attack, firing off three shots in the next ten minutes, with two being turned away by the Saint Joseph's keeper.
- Gschrey converted the game-tying goal in the 18th minute. The Explorers turned the Hawks over in their own end, allowing the forward to outrun the Hawks' defense and fire the ball over the keepers' head into the top right corner of the goal.
- After several minutes of action, Sunni DiElmo nearly put La Salle in the driver's seat with a shot that struck the crossbar. Both sides kept the pressure up heading into the half.
- The scoring chances came fast and furious in the early goings of the second half. St. Joe's had several attempts, while Ricshya Walker fired one for La Salle.
- After a few more Hawk attempts missed the mark, the shots came fast and furious for the Explorers. Gschrey had one of particular note, ringing the second shot off the crossbar for La Salle.
- Both sides ratcheted up the pressure as the match wound down. Michela Auguadro made three stops in the final ten minutes. On the offensive side of the ball, La Salle had several chances, with the most notable being a diving stop made by the Saint Joseph's keeper off a ball from DiElmo. Neither side could break through for a second score.

- Gschrey's goal is her sixth of the season, she ranks sixth in the conference in goals.
