PHILADELPHIA – La Salle field hockey will hit the road for two games this weekend beginning with a meeting with the Bryant Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 6 at 3:00 p.m. The Explorers will then travel on Sunday to take on the Stags of Fairfield University at 1:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle went 2-0 last weekend to open the 2024 season, securing wins over Wagner, 2-1, and Queens 4-1.
- Zhao Rodrigo has been the main stay on offense for the Explorers as she exited the first two games leading the team in points with six.
- Rodrigo's two goals and two assists have left her third in the Atlantic 10 in total points.
- Shea Burns was a prominent feature in last weekend's wins. The junior tallied her second goal of the season in the 4-1 win over Queens.
- Sofia Pla and Gabrielle LaCroix each added a goal in the win over the Royals on Sunday, their first goals of the 2024 season for both of them. This was LaCroix's first collegiate goal.
- Abby Boggs has started both games in net for La Salle. In the win over Queens, she totaled one save, after facing four shots on net.
- A standout number in the team's last win was the amount of corner attempts they tallied. La Salle on the season has 30 corner attempts, 22 of those coming against Queens. The Explorers rank at the top of the Atlantic 10 Conference in this category.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
- Bryant enters tomorrow sitting at 1-1 this season. The split in their opening weekend, winning 2-1 against Fairfield and losing 2-1 to Providence.
- The scoring for the Bulldogs has come from three individuals the Explorers will need to watch for. Callie Caito, Alexa Sedicino, and Filou Verhoeven all have one goal on the season for Bryant.
- Bryant has had action from two goalies in the cage this season. Sara DeSousa has made both starts for the Bulldogs and has yet to allow a goal.
- Maud van Lierop has appeared in both contests for Bryant, however, saving six shots, and allowing three goals.
- The Bulldogs are led by head coach Jillian Coppola in her fourth season at the helm.
SCOUTING THE STAGS:
- The Stags have only seen action once this season after losing 2-1 to Bryant last Friday. They are set to face Holy Cross on Friday afternoon in their second contest of 2024.
- Rylee Laloup scored the lone goal for Fairfield this season, and was assisted by Augustina Casteluchi on the play.
- La Salle will face a familiar face in the cage on Sunday in Emily Streib. Streib spent three seasons as an Explorer before transferring to Fairfield this year.
- Streib played all 60 minutes in her season debut for the Stags allowing two goals and saving one shot.
- Fairfield is led by head coach Jackie Kane in her 30th year with the program.
