Men's Soccer Draws With Loyola Chicago In Afternoon Affair

Philadelphia, PA - La Salle men's soccer earned a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon against Loyola Chicago at McCarthy Stadium. With the result, the Explorers move to 1-4-7 overall and 0-2-3 in the A-10, while Loyola Chicago sits at 4-3-6 (1-1-3 A-10).

The Explorers struck first in the 32nd minute when freshman forward Julius de Vries finished off a setup from junior defender Sasha Rabala and junior midfielder Zeke Zambrano. The visitors equalized just eight minutes later as Jack McFeely, with assists by Joaquin Rodriguez Ortiz and Peter Janjic, in the 39th minute.

La Salle held a 21-14 advvantage in total shots and a 10-5 edge in shots on goal, while both goalkeepers turned in strong performances. Senior goalie Tino Kneis made four saves for the Explorers, and Gabe Velasco recorded nine for the Ramblers.

The Explorers return to action Tuesday when they host Arcadia, their final nonconference matchup of the season. Match time is set for 7:00 pm and will stream live on ESPN+.
