St. Bonaventure, NY — La Salle men's soccer won their third straight game, defeating St. Bonaventure on the road by a score of 2-1 Saturday evening at the Marra Athletic Complex. With the win, the Explorers improved to 4-4-7 overall and 2-2-3 in the conference, while the Bonnies dropped to 3-8-3 and 1-4-2 in the A-10.
After a scoreless opening half, the Explorers broke through in the 54th minute when junior midfielder Ismael Deme found the back of the net off a setup from junior midfielder Alexandru Zama, giving La Salle a 1–0 advantage. St. Bonaventure equalized in the 65th minute through Avery Dreasky, assisted by Seth Hammond, to bring the match level at 1–1.
La Salle responded late, reclaiming the lead in the 84th minute when freshman forward Julius de Vries finished a cross from junior midfielder Zach Forehand, with grad student midfielder Drew Blackwell providing the feed to Forehand. The goal proved to be the game-winner, securing three crucial points for the Explorers in conference play.
Senior goalie Tino Kneis anchored the defense with four saves on the night, while La Salle outshot the Bonnies 15-13 and held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The Explorers will wrap up their regular season next Saturday, hosting George Washington on its Senior Day game at 6 pm. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
