St. Louis, MO – The La Salle women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Atlantic 10 conference leader Saint Louis on Thursday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. With the result, the Explorers move to 5-5-1 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while the Billikens improve to 9-2-1 and remain unbeaten in league action at 4-0-0.
Saint Louis broke through in the 32nd minute when Blakely Hockett converted off a feed from Eva Schreiber to give the hosts a 1-0 edge heading into halftime.
The Billikens then struck for three goals in quick succession midway through the second half to put the match out of reach. Audrey Smith doubled the advantage in the 64th minute off a setup from Caroline Chier, before Izzy Luebbert found the back of the net less than two minutes later. Adee Broesder capped the scoring in the 71st minute to push the margin to 4-0.
The Explorers were limited to five shots on the night, while senior goalkeeper Mackenna Yaracs turned away a collegiate career high eight saves against a relentless Saint Louis attack that generated 25 attempts, including 12 on frame.
La Salle continues A-10 play on Sunday when it hosts Loyola Chicago for its Senior Day game. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm, and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
