This Week In La Salle Athletics: Seven Teams In Action, Men’s Soccer Home Twice, Men’s And Women’s Rowing Open Season

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.

Men's Soccer

La Salle men's soccer returns home after a two-week road trip. The squad will play at home vs. Davidson on Wednesday at 3:00 pm, followed by a Saturday afternoon affair hosting Loyola Chicago at 1:00 pm. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

Last week, freshman forward Julius de Vries scored in the 86th minute to secure the Explorers a point against VCU, drawing the Rams 1-1.

Women's Soccer

The Explorers play George Washington on the road Saturday at 1:00 pm in another conference matchup.

Last Sunday, the team overcame a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-3 draw on Senior Day against Loyola Chicago. Senior forward Justyce Hollenbach scored the team's third goal.

Field Hockey

The Blue and Gold will continue A-10 play this week as they take on winless Lock Haven at home (Ellen Ryan Field) on Friday. Next up, the team will travel to Erie, PA to faceoff with Mercyhurst.

In their last content, a 4-3 double-overtime loss to Rider, freshman Janne Zillessen tallied two defensive saves, matching the national high with four on the season.

Women's Golf

On Monday, the Explorers will wrap up the Evann Parker Memorial at Lake View Country Club in North East, PA. The 36-hole tournament began on Sunday.

Through one round, sophomore Samantha Song currently sits in a tie for fourth place.

Men's Golf

In their first outing since their controversial T-1st place finish at the Temple Invitational, the La Salle men's golf team will compete in the Bucknell Invitational beginning next Sunday.

Freshman Kyle Virsik is coming off an A-10 Rookie of the Week Performance that saw him place T-3rd at the Temple Invitational.

Men's and Women's Rowing

The La Salle Men's and Women's rowing teams will each make their fall season debuts on Sunday, competing in the Navy Day Regatta.

For the men's team, junior Derek Cushman was recently named a For Stars Network Preseason Honorable Mention.
