Julius de Vries was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. The All-Rookie honors are voted on by league coaches.
de Vries earns All-Rookie honors following an outstanding freshman campaign, who played in 10 games and started in one. The Amsterdam, Netherlands native finished tied for first on the team in goals with four, and second on the team in points with nine. Despite recording only nine shots in the season, he put six of them on frame, and scored the game-winning goal in the team's 2-1 win over St. Bonaventure on October 25. de Vries scored three of his four goals in the 84th minute or later, with each of his goals earning a result for the team (two ties and a win). Amongst the conference, de Vries' points per game of 0.9 ranks ninth overall (min. 10 games played). He also recorded an assist, setting up the equalizer to sophomore forward
Itzak Sandoval in the 83rd minute to secure a 2-2 draw against Saint Joseph's on September 20.
