Women's Basketball Wins Fifth Of Their First Six Games Against American

Philadelphia, PA - La Salle used a huge second-half push to pull away from American and earn a 72–61 win on Saturday afternoon inside John E. Glaser Arena. The Explorers outscored the Eagles 45–43 after halftime and knocked down 10 three-pointers while forcing 23 turnovers to move to 5-1 on the season.

Sophomore Joan Quinn led the way with 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting, hitting a pair of threes and adding two steals. Senior Ivona Miljanic caught fire from deep as well, scoring a DI career-high 16 points with five three-pointers, while Ashleigh Connor added 13 points and a team-high four assists.

La Salle's bench was dominant, contributing 26 points, highlighted by eight from redshirt freshman Kiara Williams, who also grabbed five boards. The Explorers controlled the paint 26–14 and held a 38–36 edge on the glass, including 13 offensive rebounds.

American was paced by Molly Driscoll's 29 points, including five threes, but La Salle limited the rest of the Eagles to just 32 points on 12-for-37 shooting.

After taking a 27–18 lead into halftime, La Salle erupted for 24 points in the third quarter—its highest-scoring frame of the night—using a pair of threes from Miljanic to build separation. The Explorers maintained control throughout the fourth, answering every American run to close out the double-digit victory.

La Salle returns to action next week as they take on Villanova at home on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
