Brooklyn, NY – The La Salle men's basketball team fell 70-60 to LIU in a non-conference matchup at the Steinberg Wellness Center on Saturday afternoon, moving to 4-7 on the season.
Jaeden Marshall led the Explorers with 13 points, tying his season high with three made three-pointers.
Justin Archer posted 11 points and set a new season high with nine rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.
Freshman Ashton Walker contributed nine points and three assists in his 10th career start.
LIU controlled the early tempo, building a 34-26 halftime lead. La Salle battled back in the second half, tying the game at 59 with 4:32 remaining in the contest, sparked by a stretch of defensive stops and timely baskets, but LIU closed the game on a 10-1 run to secure the victory.
La Salle held a 40-29 edge on the boards, highlighted by 18 offensive rebounds, and saw its bench outscore LIU's reserves 23-6.
